05 · What is ferry gliding?The technique behind the name

ferry gliding /ˈfɛri ˈɡlaɪdɪŋ/ · n.

A boat-handling technique: holding a vessel at an angle to wind or stream so the forces move her sideways under control — onto a berth, or off one. Two words when it is the technique; one word when it is this app.
