Licences and terms

The sentences the app asks you to agree to, word for word, and the licence behind the harbour commons.

The harbour commons

Before the first harbour is published, a member agrees to this, once:

Harbours published to the commons are shared under the Open Database License (ODbL 1.0): anyone may use, share and improve them, must credit the source, and must share improvements under the same licence. A harbour from OpenStreetMap already carries its credit and keeps it.

The licence is the Open Database License 1.0. A harbour drawn by hand and published gains the credit Ferryglide commons contributors. A harbour brought in from OpenStreetMap carries © OpenStreetMap contributors and keeps it through every version.

Runs

A run published through the app travels under this:

A run you publish may be watched, replayed and taken over by anyone; it carries its harbour and its boat, and nothing about you but the name you gave it.

A run shared as a link, without publishing, is a link and nothing more: it opens for whoever has it and is not listed anywhere.

Map data

Harbours brought in from OpenStreetMap are © OpenStreetMap contributors, under the Open Database License. Ferryglide does not query OpenStreetMap’s servers itself; you bring the extract.
